Tue May 1, 2001: Inaugural Session/reception at ICIMOD (International Center for Integrated Mountain Development)

Wed May 2, 2001: Academic Program, Workshop

Thus May 3, 2001: Academic Program

Fri May 4, 2001: Academic Program

Sat May 5, 2001: Transfer to the point of rafting

Sun May 6, 2001: Half day rafting.  Arrival at Royal Chitwan National Park.

Mon May 7, 2001: Full day jungle activities.  Elephant ride to view rhinoceros, tiger, deer etc.), Natural walk, bird watching.  Canoe ride to view crocodile. Tharu dance.

Tues May 8, 2001: Full day jungle activities.  Talk program by National park warden and Director of the research project, Community biogas project.

Wed May 9, 2001: Departure to Lumbini.  Sightseeing at the sacred garden, the birth place of Buddha.

Thus May 10, 2001: Departure to Palpa/Tansen. Natural walk to view the panoramic view of the Himalayas.  Visit sites of Community Forestry and watershed Management.  Discussion with the local community on development issues.

Friday May 11, 2001: Departure to Pokhara.  Boating/canoeing in the Phewa lake.  Dinner with folk dances from various ethnic groups of Nepal.

Sat May 12, 2001: Visit community forestry, planting program in one of the community forest land. Sightseeing  of major places of interest in Pokhara.  

Sun May 13, 2001: Start of 4 day trek in the Royal trekking route in the Annapurna Conservation area

Mon May 14, 200: Trekking

Tue May 15, 2001: Trekking

Wed May 16, 2001: Trekking.  Arrive back to Pokhara.

Thus May 17,2001: Drive back to Kathmandu.

Fri May 18, 2001: Resumption of academic program.

Sat May 19, 2001: Academic Program

Sun May 20, 2001: Preparation for presentation, sightseeing, discusssion

Mon May 21, 2001: Presentation by participants, discussion.

Tue May 22, 2001: Final Discussion, Evaluation, Closing session, Award of certificates, Gala Dinner..

Wed May 23, 2001: Departure for Canada
